1. D.C. United - 28 pts.|2-1 win at Toronto FC; Week 18: at San Jose Earthquakes

D.C. United lost Fabian Espindola to injury and Cristian to mutual contract termination, yet still went on the road and defeated Toronto FC to take the top spot in the Eastern Conference. The Black-and-Red's impressive season continues.

2. Sporting Kansas City - 26 pts. |1-1 draw vs. Chicago Fire; Week 18: at Montreal Impact

A year after Dom Dwyer set the USL-PRO single-season goal-scoring record, he has 12 in 17 MLS matches this season, and one of the League's most notable celebrations, to boot.

3. New England Revolution - 23 pts.| 2-1 loss at Real Salt Lake; Week 18: vs. Chicago Fire

Despite four straight losses, the Revolution has not dropped out of playoff position, but only Houston (14) has a wider disparity between its home and road goal differentials than New England (12).

4. Toronto FC - 21 pts.| 1-1 draw at Chicago Fire, 2-1 loss vs. D.C. United; Week 18: vs. Houston Dynamo

Toronto FC still has three matches in hand on D.C. United and Sporting Kansas City, with two on New England as well. That difference will be partially made up over the next four weeks, as the Reds have six League matches over that span.

5. New York Red Bulls - 20 pts.| 2-2 draw at Houston Dynamo; Week 18: vs. Columbus Crew

Bradley Wright-Phillips' latest goal gave him a two-tally cushion in the Golden Boot race.

6. Columbus Crew - 20 pts.|1-1 draw at Colorado Rapids; Week 18: at New York Red Bulls

Columbus travels to New York in what could be called the Crew's biggest match of the 2014 campaign thus far. The two sides still have identical records (4-5-8) and identical goal differentials (even).

7. Houston Dynamo - 18 pts. |2-2 draw vs. New York Red Bulls; Week 18: at Toronto FC

The amazing difference in Houston's attack with and without Brad Davis continues: in the FIFA World Cup player's first match back, the Dynamo scored twice, snapping its five-match scoreless run.

8. Philadelphia Union - 18 pts.|2-1 loss at FC Dallas; Week 18: vs. Colorado Rapids

A bit of a speed bump for the Union at Toyota Stadium, but given its start, Philadelphia is still in positive position in the Conference.

9. Chicago Fire - 16 pts. |1-1 draw vs. Toronto FC, 1-1 draw at Sporting Kansas City; Week 18: at New England Revolution

The Fire has drawn 10 matches this season; just four MLS sides drew that many contests in all of 2013.

10. Montreal Impact - 14 pts.| 1-0 loss at Chivas USA; Week 18: vs. Sporting Kansas City

Tough to fault Montreal's loss when it came at the hands of this ridiculous goal by Erick "Cubo" Torres.
