Palm Beach Cardinals News Release
The Cardinals prevail over weather and Cubs lead tonight. Daytona led the game from the second inning on and it looked as if Mother Nature was about to end the game early. The storm just missed and permitted the game to continue. This allowed the Cardinals to battle back in the ninth inning.
Colt Sedbrook batted the ball up the middle to the center fielder. Jermaine Curtis place a textbook sacrifice bunt that sent Sedbrook to second base. Then Shane Peterson singled on a line drive to the Cubs right fielder Dylan Johnston and advanced on the throw to second base. The Cardinals left fielder Chris Swauger drew the intentional walk that loaded the bases. Francisco Rivera drove the ball up the middle setting up the double play but the Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro threw the ball away. Palm Beach scored two runs on the play and win the ballgame.
Game two of the four game set starts tomorrow at 7:05 PM.
