Cards fall to Jammers, 1-0

This evening at Skylands Park in Augusta, New Jersey, the Jamestown Jammers (Florida Marlins) defeated the New Jersey Cardinals, 1-0, in front of a crowd of 3,387. With the loss, the Cardinals snapped a four game winning streak, falling to a 15-16 record. Jamestown improved to 12-21 with the victory.

Right hander Miguel Aguero (1-3) was the tough luck loser for New Jersey, giving up one run on five hits over eight innings. RHP Jaymie Torres came on to pitch the ninth, retiring the Jammers in order.

The game was scoreless going into the top of the 7th, until Aguero gave up a one out triple to Brad McCann. JT Restko drove in McCann with a double.

The Cards continue their five-game home stand tomorrow night at 7:15 pm with the finale of their three-game series with Jamestown. On Friday, the Williamsport Crosscutters (Pittsburgh Pirates) make their first trip of the season to Skylands Park when the clubs open up a two-game set. Thursday, Miller Lite and The New Jersey Herald sponsor the second installment of the Miller Lite Bat Bonanza and Friday night is fireworks night courtesy of Condit Toyota and The Star Ledger. Saturday night, Franklin Sussex Auto Mall and the New Jersey Herald sponsor a Monster Truck Crush, it is Knights of Columbus night, and post-game is Family Catch on the Field and Girl Scout Sleepover Night.
