Cardinals Outfielder Jon Jay to Rehab with Chiefs

The St. Louis Cardinals and Peoria Chiefs have announced that outfielder Jon Jay will begin a rehab stint in the Midwest League when the Chiefs host the Clinton LumberKings (Seattle) at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Jay is expected to play for the Chiefs Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Tuesday is Taco Bell Tuesday show a Taco Bell receipt showing the purchase of a Doritos Locos Taco from within the last 7 days to receive a buy one get one free ticket.

Wednesday is Dollar Dog Wins-Day Presented By Hebrew National! Bring the family out to the ballpark for $1 hot dogs, soda, and ice cream sandwiches and a guaranteed win night. If the Chiefs lose, everyone in attendance wins a ticket to a future Monday-Wednesday Chiefs game.

Thursday is Thirsty Thursday presented By Miller Lite and 12 ounce domestic drafts and fountain drinks for just $1!

Jay, who was placed on the disabled list May 14 with left wrist tendonitis, will be the Chiefs first Major League rehab since Jake Westbrook started against Quad Cities on June 9, 2013. The last time a position player rehabbed with the Chiefs was Cubs 3B Aramis Ramirez June 19-20, 2010. Jay's rehab stint will likely last 2-3 games as the Chiefs host Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on both Wednesday and Thursday. Jay missed three games with the Cardinals before landing on the 15-day DL with a bone bruise on his left thumb. He had surgery on the wrist after the NLCS last October.
