
Daniel Helps Bees Slug Way Past Snappers

(Burlington-IA)- Bees' second baseman Andrew Daniel drove in seven runs, helping the Bees defeat the Beloit Snappers, 15-6, on Tuesday night at Community Field.
Jake Yacinich led off the bottom of the first inning with a single and then moved to third on a Michael Hermosillo single. Andrew Daniel then drove a triple to left, scoring both Yacinich and Hermosillo, putting the Bees on top 2-0. Natanael Delgado made it a 3-0 Bees' lead with a groundout to first, scoring Daniel.
With the score 3-1, Jose Brizuela doubled to right, scoring two runs, tying the game at three in the third inning. Zach Houchins gave the Bees the lead back in the bottom of the third inning, clubbing his first homer of the game, making the score 4-3. Later in the inning, Wade Wass then made it 5-3, grounding a single back up the middle, scoring Natanael Delgado. The Bees' opened the bottom of the fourth inning with three straight singles, extending their lead to 6-3 on a Michael Hermosillo RBI single, scoring Erick Salcedo. Andrew Daniel then smacked his seventh home run of the season, a three run shot to left, putting the Bees up 10-3. The next hitter, Zach Houchins launched his second homer of the game, pushing the score to 11-3.
The Bees offensive onslaught continued in the fifth inning. With runners at second and third, Andrew Daniel lined a single to center, scoring Yacinich and Hermosillo, upping the Bees' lead to 13-5, giving Daniel seven RBIs in the game.
Bees' reliever, Jake Jewell (2) allowed just one run in four innings of work, picking up the save, securing the Bees' 15-6 win over Beloit. Bees' starter Michael Bolaski (2-4) worked five innings, picking up the win while Daniel Gossett (2-5) was charged with the loss.
The Bees and the Snappers continue the series Wednesday night at 6:30 at Community Field for Kids Eat Free Wednesday.
