
Brian Navarreto activated from 7-day DL

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that catcher Brian Navarreto has been activated from the 7-day disabled list and that catcher Rainis Silva has been assigned to Extended Spring Training. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
Navarreto went on the DL back on May 4th with a left wrist sprain. He was batting .138 (8-58) with two RBI in 16 games for the Kernels this season. He has thrown out 74% of runners attempting a stolen base this year (five stolen bases in 19 attempts).
Silvia played in 11 games for the Kernels, batting .227 (10-44) with three doubles and two RBI.
Navarreto is active and available for tonight's 6:35 PM home game against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players with six players currently on the DL and one player on the restricted list.
The Kernels open a seven game home stand tonight at 6:35 PM against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Midwest League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. The Kernels will wear special jerseys that will be sold via a silent auction at the September 5th game. And one lucky Kernels fan will win a pair of tickets to a Minnesota Twins game.
