JUPITER, FL - Clary Carlson (4-4) allowed just one run in eight innings and Tim Moss went 2-for-5 with a home run as the Cardinals fell to Clearwater on Sunday afternoon to lose three of four in the series.

For the second straight day, the Cardinals could muster only one run against the Threshers. In the fifth, Jarrett Hoffpauir singled to bring home Terry Evans. Hoffpauir finished 2-for-4 on the day.

Cardinals' starter Dennis Dove also pitched well, allowing just one run in seven innings.

With the score tied 1-1 in the eighth, the Threshers scored twice off Anthony Rawson (0-1). The two-run rally was aided by a throwing error by Rawson on an attempt to retire the lead runner at second base on a sacrifice bunt.

The Threshers added two more runs in the ninth on Moss' two-run shot, his sixteenth.

The Cardinals finish their eight-game home stand with a mark of 4-4. After an off day Monday, they travel to Lakeland for a four-game series starting Tuesday night.
