Lake County Captains News Release

(Eastlake, OH)--Thursday's scheduled game between the Lake County Captains and Asheville Tourists at Classic Park has been rained out. The Eastlake area received two inches of rain in a two-hour span Thursday afternoon, rendering the field unplayable.

Thursday's game was the final game scheduled between the Captains and Tourists, and will not be made up. The Tourists won the first two games of the series before the Captains claimed a 7-4 win on Wednesday night.

The homestand will continue for the Captains at Classic Park Friday evening at 7:05 when the Kannapolis Intimidators visit for the start of a four-game series. The Intimidators are the SAL affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.

A post-game fireworks show sponsored by Heinen's Fine Foods will follow Friday's game. For tickets, call (440) 954-WINS. The game will also be televised on Adelphia beginning at 9:00 pm (tape delay).

Fans holding tickets for Thursday's rainout may redeem them for any remaining, regular-season home game at Classic Park, subject to availability. Tickets must be exchanged in person at the Captains ticket office.

The Captains are currently 18-14, and in second place in the SAL North Division race, 3 1/2 games behind first-place Lakewood.

The Kannapolis series will continue with games on Saturday night at 7:05, Sunday afternoon at 2:05 and Monday evening at 7:05.
