Caps Hit Road Block Against Runners

May 28, 2010 - Golden Baseball League (GBL)
Edmonton Capitals News Release

The Edmonton Capitals continue to feel the heat in the desert. They surrendered another eight-inning run in the early stages of their series opener in St. George and could not recover suffering an 18 - 7 loss to the RoadRunners. St. George busted out of their own slump in a big way registering their first win of the season. All of the RoadRunner starting position players registered at least one hit. Caps starter Chris Little took the loss and was pulled in the third inning. Catcher Pete Farina was a bright spot for Edmonton going 3 for 4 at the plate with a couple of runs scored and an RBI.

Edmonton has yet to win a series opener this season in three tries and their record slips to 2 - 6. The Caps will try to bounce back Friday night. Recently acquired Evan White will see his first action as an Edmonton Capital. He was just picked up in a trade with the Chico Outlaws in exchange for right handed pitcher Julian Arballo.

The Edmonton Capitals are Edmonton's first choice for professional baseball and family entertainment. Capitals season seats start at under $9 per game and individual game tickets are available for just $10 every game. The Caps Home Opener is scheduled for Tuesday, June 1 at TELUS Field. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster locations, the TELUS Field Box Office during regular business hours, at (780) 414-GOAL (4625) or online at capsbaseball.ca.
