Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Capitals continued their hot hitting on Friday night at TELUS Field by putting a dozen more runs on the board en route to a 12-5 win over the Chico Outlaws, redeeming themselves from a 17-8 defeat on Thursday.

The Caps also exploded for 20 runs during Wednesday's 20-8 rout in the series opener, giving them an impressive 40 runs in the three-game set against the Outlaws. They improved to 11-8 on the season thanks to Friday's win and closed to within two games of the Lake County Fielders (14-7) for first place in the North American League's North Division.

Centre fielder Steve Brown, left fielder Todd Linden, right fielder Tom Collaro and third baseman Carlos Duncan each hit a home run on Friday to pace the Caps to the blowout victory, as Brown and Duncan each drove in three runs on the night. Linden and second baseman Matt Rogelstad also each drove in two runs, while Brown stole a pair of bases.

Mike Hrynio, Chad Blackwell and Bartolome Fortunato each pitched one inning from there to finish off the victory.
