The Chicago Steel fell to the Madison Capitols 5-4 Saturday night at Fox Valley Ice Arena...Chicago led the game 2-1 in the first period before a Madison goal with one minute left in the period tied the game at two...Madison jumped in front in the second period and never gave up the lead, scoring three consecutive goals to take a 4-2 lead in the third period...Chicago got within one early in the third, but a Capitols goal on an empty net thwarted the comeback effort despite a Steel goal with under a minute to play...Neither team scored on the man advantage, the Steel going 0-for-2 and the Capitols 0-for-1

Forward Michael Hage was the first Steel goal scorer, his 11th of the year on a five-hole goal in the opening period. Hage finishes the month of December with nine points and five goals.

Defenseman Chris Able finished the night with a goal and an assist and a +1 rating

Forwards Mick Thompson and Kolin Sisson scored in the third period, with both of their goals bringing the Steel to within one at the time. Thompson's goal was his ninth of the year and extended his point streak to three games. Sisson's score was his sixth of the year and his third goal in the last five games.

Chicago goaltender Louka Cloutier made 29 saves on 33 shots in the loss

Neither the Steel nor the Capitols have swept a weekend series against the other this season. Each team is 3-3-0-0 head-to-head this year.
