Capitols Announce Tendering of Center Leclerc
May 15, 2014 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Madison Capitols News Release
Madison, WI - The Madison Capitols have announced the tendering of center Guillaume Leclerc (Franois, France).
The 5-foot-9-inch, 160-pound left-hander played the 2013-14 season with the Austin Bruins of the North American Hockey League. He registered 21 goals and 25 assists in 54 games. Leclerc has committed to play college hockey at Umass-Lowell, the same commitment as fellow Capitols tender Ryan Lohin (Chadds Ford, Pa.).
"Guillaume is a very versatile player. He can play center or wing, and on the half-wall or low on the power play. His innate ability to make plays through traffic will allow him to be an immediate impact each and every night," said Capitols head coach Steve Miller.
"Guillaume is a competitor and a tireless worker," Miller added. "Combined with his good stick and puck stripping abilities, he can often win 50/50 corner battles against much bigger opponents. We look for Guillaume to be a big part of our offense this season."
Leclerc joins Sebastian Fuchs (Lidingo, Sweden) as European-born tenders on the inaugural Capitols roster.
