Capital City Takes First Game against Windy City

The Capital City Go-Go, the NBA G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards, defeated the Windy City Bulls, 129-107, at the Entertainment & Sports Arena.

The Go-Go created separation early, outscoring the Bulls, 35-20, in the first quarter. The Go-Go were leading by 18 points with 8:30 left in the second quarter, but the Bulls went on an 8-0 run before the Go-Go called a timeout with 7:21 remaining in the quarter. Coming out of the break, Go-Go forward Taylor Funk hit a three-point jump shot and the Go-Go kept a double-digit lead over the Bulls for the rest of the game. The Go-Go went on to defeat the Bulls, 129-107, with the 22-point victory being the largest margin of victory between the two teams in series history.

Wizards two-way player Jules Bernard led the Go-Go in rebounds and assists while posting the only double-double of the night with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. Seven of his 10 rebounds came in the first quarter. Hamidou Diallo was the leading scorer for the Go-Go with 27 points. Taylor Funk also put on a strong performance, making a career-high seven threes and finishing the night with 24 points. Mychal Mulder and Jake Stephens also scored in double-figures with 15 and 12 points, respectively, off the bench. Newcomer RJ Nembhard, who was acquired by the Go-Go hours before tip, played 22 minutes with six points and four assists on his 25th birthday.

Bulls guard Ryan Arcidiacono led the team in scoring with 19 points. Chase Audige was the next highest scorer with 17 points off the bench while putting up seven rebounds. Adama Sanogo led the team in rebounds and assists with eight rebounds and five assists while scoring 10 points. Andrew Funk (13), Jalen Harris (13), and Keifer Sykes (12) also scored in double-figures.

The Go-Go will face the Bulls once again on Sunday, March 24 at 3:00 p.m. for the final home game of the regular season.
