Canucks Call for Sweatt, Return Oreskovich

The Vancouver Canucks have recalled left wing BILL SWEATT from the Chicago Wolves. In addition, the Canucks have reassigned right wing VICTOR ORESKOVICH to the Wolves.

SWEATT ranks fifth on the Wolves with 9 points (4G, 5A) in 19 games this season. He also shares fourth on the team with a +3 plus/minus rating. The 23-year-old forward ranked second on the Manitoba Moose and shared ninth among American Hockey League rookies with 46 points (19G, 27A) in 80 contests last season during his professional debut.

ORESKOVICH accrued 7 penalty minutes in Vancouver's 6-0 win over the Colorado Avalanche Tuesday night after being recalled on Dec. 5. He has recorded 4 assists and 5 points in 11 games with the Wolves this season. The 25-year-old forward collected 3 assists and 8 penalty minutes in 16 National Hockey League games with Vancouver last year. He also skated in 19 Stanley Cup playoff matchups with the Canucks, collecting 12 penalty minutes. The Whitby, Ontario, native also accrued 12 points (4G, 8A) and 38 penalty minutes in 40 AHL tilts with the Manitoba Moose last season.
