B-Sens Auction Jerseys for Southern Tier Flood Relief

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that they will auction off a special set of game-worn jerseys to aid flood relief in the Southern Tier.
In September the Southern Tier region experienced historic flooding after heavy rain from the remnants of Hurricane Lee caused the Susquehanna River to rise to record levels.
The B-Sens will wear black jerseys featuring a special edition American Red Cross patch at their home games on Dec. 16 versus the Adirondack Phantoms and Dec. 17 versus the Worcester Sharks.
B-Sens' equipment manager Tom Severance coordinated the auction efforts.
"Having grown up in this area and then watching the pictures and video from my hotel room in Ottawa during training camp, I thought I should be doing something to help those who have lost their homes and valuables. I called my friend Gary Linquist at Reebok and asked if they could donate a set of game jerseys for us to wear and then auction to raise money for those who needed help. Gary graciously agreed to help us out and ordered the jerseys. Our hope is that this jersey auction will help a few families get back on their feet, "explained Severance.
The jerseys will be auctioned off via eBay (http://stores.ebay.com/binghamtonsenatorsteamshop) beginning Monday, Dec. 19. All proceeds from the auction with go to the American Red Cross Southern Tier Chapter to assist with local flood relief efforts.
