Canucks Assign Weber to the Comets

Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Michael D. Gillis announced today that the Canucks have assigned defenceman Yannick Weber to the AHL Utica Comets.

Weber, 25, dressed in 10 games for Vancouver, collecting nine hits. He has appeared in 125 career NHL games, notching 32 points (5-27-32) and 52 penalty minutes.

The 5-foot-11, 201 lb. defenseman has scored 88 points, in 148 American Hockey League games for the Hamilton Bulldogs. Weber was named an AHL All-Star during the 2008-09 season.

The Morges, Switzerland native was originally selected 73rd overall in the third round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens.
