CANES REASSIGN TREVOR CARRICK TO CHARLOTTE

RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned defenseman Trevor Carrick to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Carrick, 23, played one game for the Hurricanes during his recall, registering one shot on goal in 7:32 of ice time against Edmonton. The Stouffville, Ont., native has notched two assists in three games with Charlotte this season, and is tied for first among all Checkers skaters with 10 shots on goal. Carrick was selected by Carolina in the fourth round, 115th overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft. He has appeared in three games with the Hurricanes and made his NHL debut on March 15, 2016 against Washington.
