Canaries Look to Win Series vs. Fargo Sunday

SIOUX FALLS - Trey Michalczewski went deep, but the Sioux Falls Canaries fell 6-1 to the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks at the Birdcage Saturday.
RHP Joey Wagman (0-1) took the loss in his Canaries debut. The righty went five innings, giving up six runs (six earned) on nine hits and two walks. He struck out three. LHP Brady Stover pitched four stellar innings in relief for the Canaries. Stover allowed only one baserunner on a hit-by-pitch, and he struck out six Redhawks.
LHP Matt Tomshaw (1-0) of the Redhawks went six innings without allowing a hit. He struck out nine Birds in the process. Sioux Falls would not break through until Trey Michalczewski hit a towering solo home run in the seventh inning off of RHP Taylor Wright.
Correlle Prime hit a leadoff homer in the first for the RedHawks, and John Silviano added a solo blast in the second. The homer was the tenth of the season for Michalczewski.
The series concludes on Sunday at 2:05 pm. RHP Bret Helton (5-7) will get the start for the Redhawks. The Canaries starting pitcher will be RHP Tyler Garkow (3-8, 5.73 ERA).
