Canadiens Recall St-Denis from Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QC - The Montreal Canadiens announced today that defenseman Frederic St-Denis has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs.

St-Denis, 26, has played in 52 games for Hamilton this season, recording 28 points (3 goals, 25 assists) while registering two power play goals and 101 shots on goal. The 5-foot-11, 182-pound defenseman has played 8 games with the Canadiens this season, including his first NHL game on Wednesday, November 16th, 2011 against the Carolina Hurricanes. The native of Pointe-Claire, Quebec scored his first career NHL goal on Thursday, December 8th, 2011 against the Vancouver Canucks. In his time with Montreal, St-Denis has recorded four shots on goal, three blocked shots, and maintained a +1 plus/minus rating while playing an average of 11:48 per game in his time with Montreal.

The Bulldogs next take to the ice TONIGHT, Wednesday, March 14th, 2012 at 6 p.m. EDT for the second of two back-to-back away games against the St. John's IceCaps at Mile One Centre.
