Samuelsson Assigned to Nailers

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - It was announced today that defenseman Philip Samuelsson has been re-assigned from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Samuelsson heads to Wheeling for the second time this year, where he posted an assist in one previous appearance. He has skated in 42 games this season for the Penguins, netting a goal and seven assists.

Samuelsson is in his first year of professional hockey after skating two seasons with Boston College. The 20-year-old native of Leksand, Sweden earned an NCAA Championship in 2010 during his freshman year with Eagles.
