
Canadiens Assign Three Players to Bulldogs

MONTREAL (September 28, 2011) - The Montreal Canadiens announced today that goaltender Nathan Lawson, forward Brian Willsie and defenceman Frederic St. Denis have been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Lawson, 27, played in 10 games with the New York Islanders last season earning a 1-4-2 record along with a 4.06 goals-against-average and a .913 save percentage. In 16 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in 2010-2011, the native of Calgary, Alberta posted a record of 6-5-4 with a 2.90 goals-against-average and a .913 save percentage. The 6-foot-2, 191-pound goaltender has played in a total of 83 American Hockey League games posting a 41-30-9 record with a 2.46 goals-against-average and a .922 save percentage. Lawson was signed as a free agent by Montreal on July 5, 2011.
St. Denis, 25, competed in 76 games with the 'Dogs in 2010-2011 earning 23 points (five goals, 18 assists) along with a +16 rating and 34 penalty minutes. The native of Greenfield Park, Quebec also recorded 10 points (one goal, nine assists) and 12 penalty minutes in 20 post-season games with the Bulldogs. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound defenceman played in three games with the Canadiens during the 2011 pre-season. St. Denis was originally signed as a free agent by the Montreal on July 1st, 2010.
Willsie, 33, played last season with the Hershey Bears, ranking second on the team in points with 68 (30 goals, 38 assists) along with a +27 rating and 68 penalty minutes. The native of Belmont, Ontario has competed in a total of 381 NHL games registering 109 points (52 goals, 57 assists) and 217 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 202-pound right wing has also played in 473 AHL games amassing 365 points (173 goals, 192 assists) and 308 penalty minutes. Willsie competed in three 2011 pre-season games with the Canadiens earning a goal and an assist. He was signed as a free agent by Montreal on July 7th, 2011.
