
Canadiens Assign Five Players to Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QC - The Montreal Canadiens announced tonight that five players were assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Three of the five players, defenceman Mathieu Carle and forwards David Desharnais and Gabriel Dumont, played for the Bulldogs last season. Goaltender Peter Delmas and forward Andreas Engqvist were also assigned to Hamilton.
Thirty-one players are still at Montreal's training camp, including three goaltenders, 10 defencemen and 18 forwards. The list of injured players at camp includes goaltender Curtis Sanford (lower body), defencemen Roman Hamrlik (knee), Andrei Markov (knee) and forwards Hunter Bishop (upper body), Max Pacioretty (upper body) and Ryan Russell (lower body).
The Bulldogs season gets underway with their first pre-season game at 6:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, September 30th against the Binghamton Senators in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. The 'Dogs will host the Senators for two more pre-season games on Saturday, October 2nd at 12:30 p.m. EST in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and on Sunday, October 3rd at 12:30 p.m. EST in St. John's, Newfoundland. Hamilton will open its 15th American Hockey League season on Friday, October 15th at 7:35 p.m. when they travel to Rochester to battle the Americans. The Bulldogs will then return to Copps Coliseum to host their 2010-2011 home opener on Saturday, October 16th at 4:00 p.m. against the Toronto Marlies. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on TODAY'S COUNTRY AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. All pre-game shows during 'Dogs home games will be broadcast live from the main concourse at Copps Coliseum.
