Canadiens Assign Benoit Pouliot To Bulldogs For Conditioning Purposes

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that forward Benoit Pouliot has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs from Montreal for conditioning purposes.

Pouliot, 23, was acquired by the Canadiens from the Minnesota Wild on November 23rd in exchange for Guillaume Latendresse. This season, the 6-foot-3, 199-pound left wing has played in 14 games for the Wild earning four points (two goals, two assists) and 12 penalty minutes. The native of Alfred, Ontario has played a total of 143 AHL games for the Houston Aeros collecting 84 points (38 goals, 46 assists) and 196 penalty minutes and 65 total NHL games with Minnesota registering 18 points (nine goals, nine assists) and 30 penalty minutes. Pouliot was drafted in the 1st round, 4th overall by the Wild in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

The Bulldogs meet the Abbotsford Heat on Sunday, December 13th at 4:00 p.m. at Copps Coliseum which will feature the annual stuffed toy toss night.
