June 19, 2012 - Northwest League (NWL1)
Vancouver Canadians News Release

(Avista Stadium - Spokane, WA) - A trio of Spokane errors in the top of the 8th inning helped the Vancouver Canadians to a 7-1 win on Tuesday night to improve to 4-1 (.800) on the Northwest League season.

Vancouver and Spokane were locked at 1-1 heading into the 8th inning when DH Balbino Fuenmayor would double followed by a walk to 3B Kellen Sweeney. From there, 2B Dan Arcila would hit a ball out to Indians 2B Cam Schiller who had it flip off his glove (error) and roll out into right field. That error allowed PR Matt Newman to score. Spokane RF Royce Bolinger challenged Newman's efforts to the plate but the throw would get away from C Joe Maloney (error) allowing 3B Kellen Sweeney to score. 2B Dan Arcila would advance all the way to third base amidst the confusion.

A pitch later and C Joe Maloney would try and throw out Arcila leading off at third base but hit him in the back of the helmet (error) which pushed the ball into left field allowing the runner to score making it 4-1.

Vancouver's offense put up three more runs in the top of the 9th inning when SS Eric Phillips (error) LF Ian Parmley (walk) and RF Nick Baligod (hit by pitch) loaded the bases for PH Matt Newman who hit a two-run double to left field to help the C's toward a 7-1 final.

Notes: The Canadians outscored the Indians 38-14 in this five-game series... Vancouver maintains a share of first in the Northwest League West Division heading into their series vs. Tri-City... DH Balbino Fuenmayor hit a double in the top of the 8th inning to pick up his 10th hit of the summer in just five games...
