(Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, BC) - Revenge is a dish best served cold and on Sunday, the Eugene Emeralds exacted some revenge on the Canadians with a 4-0 shutout victory. The Emeralds were shutout by Vancouver back on Thursday night falling 1-0 out at Civic Stadium in front of one of their largest crowds of the 2009 season. On Sunday, Eugene returned the favour in front of 5,075 sun soaked fans out at Nat Bailey Stadium.
The Emeralds got to Canadians RHP Ronny Morla in the top of the 2nd inning when C Griffin Benedict hit a double (6) to left field and scored on a line drive off the bat of RF Ty Wright that was dropped by Canadians CF Tyreace House. Eugene scored a pair in the top of the 7th inning off of Canadians LHP Ian Krol who was making his professional debut at the age of 18. SS Dean Anna then hit a sacrifice fly to left field scoring Railey to extend the Eugene lead to 3-0.
The finishing touches offensively for Eugene came in the top of the 9th inning when Canadians RHP Kyle Christensen walked both 3B Brayden Drake and 2B Joey Railey before giving up a double (9) to SS Dean Anna that scored Drake to give the Emeralds a 4-0 lead.

Eugene's bullpen was strong as well as they shut down Vancouver with RHP David Erickson pitching a scoreless 6th inning and LHP Nick Greenwood who went the final three innings giving up just two hits.
