
Canadians Extend Winning Ways To Four Games

(PK Park - Eugene, OR) - Canadians RHP Ben White pitched seven strong innings on Friday night limiting the Eugene Emeralds to just two hits as Vancouver opened up an eight-game home stand with a convincing 3-1 victory to move into top spot in the Northwest League's West Division.
Vancouver opened the scoring in the top of the 2nd inning when 1B Art Charles hit his 2nd double of the season off of RHP Joe Ross before coming around to count when 3B Jason Leblebijian singled up the middle giving the Canadians a 1-0 lead.
Leblebijian was in on the scoring in the top of the 4th inning with the Canadians leading 2-1 as he hit his 7th double of the summer off of Eugene reliever LHP Brandon Alger and scored seconds later when C Leo Hernandez hit a line drive back up the middle to score the game's final run.
RHP Ben White (3-4) had his most productive outing of the season striking out four while limiting the Eugene offense to just a lone run over his seven innings of work. Relievers RHP Eric Brown (1.0IP) and RHP Arik Sikula (1.0IP) helped Vancouver improve to 7-4 (.636) on the second half of the season and move one game clear of Eugene for the West Division lead through 11 games.
