Worcester 4, Pittsfield 3
Third baseman Mark Minicozzi hit a two-run homer in the top of the third inning to help lift Worcester to a 4-3 win against Pittsfield at Wahconah Park. After a scoreless first inning, Worcester got on the board in the top of the second when Ryan Crespi scored a run. Minicozzi batted in two more runs in the third inning to give Worcester a 3-0 lead. Pittsfield scored three of the next four runs, but it wasn't enough to top the Tornadoes. Worcester had just three hits and Minicozzi led the Tornadoes with one run, one hit and two RBI in three at-bats. Pittsfield, on the other hand, racked up nine hits in the game, and right fielder Peter Fatse led the Federals with three hits and two runs in four at-bats. Zach Zuercher, now 13-4 on the season, earned the win by allowing seven hits, three runs and striking out eight in seven innings pitched.
