Brockton used a big day at the plate from SS Dominic Ramos and a solid effort from their newest hurler to top Ottawa 4-1. Ramos had four hits in five trips to the plate and scored a run while Rony Mercado tossed five shutout innings to earn a victory in his professional debut. Mercado struck out three, walked two, and allowed just three hits. A trio of relievers including closer Jerry Dunn turned in solid performances to insure the Rox victory, with Dunn collecting his 17th save. Ottawa starter Mike Kusiewicz allowed three earned runs off nine hits and fell to 2-7 on the year.

Sussex 8, New Jersey 2

Skyhawks C Yohanny Valera went 3-for-4 with a home run and 2B Chris Brown belted his eighth homer of the year as Sussex beat New Jersey 8-2. The Skyhawks tallied 12 hits in the contest with seven of nine starters collecting a hit. Brown's homer was part of a 2-for-4 night in which he scored twice and drove in two runs. Sussex CF Ron Perodin finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI while DH Mario Delgado went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI. Skyhawks starter Matt Salvato pitched seven innings, struck out four, and allowed two earned runs as he improved to 8-3 on the year.

Atlantic City 10, Nashua 3

Atlantic City grabbed an early lead with three runs in the first inning and put the game away with a five-run sixth inning as they beat Nashua 10-3. Surf 1B Eddie Kim had a big night for Atlantic City as he stroked three doubles and drove in three runs to finish 3-for-4. SS Anthony Granato and 3B Gil Zayas each homered and finished with two hits in the game. Surf starter Brian Rodaway surrendered just two earned runs in eight innings while striking out eight and improved to 9-6 on the season. Three other Surf hitters finished with two hits in the contest.

Quebec 4, Worcester 3

A double off the bat of RF Mike Goss and a sacrifice fly by CF Goef Tomlinson broke a 3-3 tie in the seventh inning and led Quebec to a 4-3 victory at Worcester. Capitales starter Michel Simard did not have his best outing of the year but got some help from his bullpen to pick up another win. He allowed eight hits and three earned runs in six innings before Erick Nadon and Mark James combined to finish the game with three shutout innings. Simard's record now stands at 11-1. James' save was his first of this season. DH Alex Nunez and C Greg Stevens led the Quebec offense as Nunez went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Stevens hit his eighth home run of the year.
