In the completion of the suspended game from June 18, the Quebec Capitales picked up where the left off and held the Rapidz to one run after play resumed to earn the win. Capitales pitcher Mark James recorded the win, allowing one run on five hits while striking out three in five innings of work. The victory runs his mark to 2-0 on the year. Quebec LF Issael Gonzalez led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and a pair of RBI. Ottawa SS Juan Infante led all hitters. He was 3-for-5 with a run scored in the losing effort.

Sussex out-hit Nashua 11-8 en route to the home win, helping them to remain in the hunt for the first half title. Sussex 3B Jay Yaconetti led the way for the Skyhawks, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Sussex DH Walter Young also had a good game at the plate. He was 2-for-3 with a solo home run. Skyhawks starting pitcher Mark Michael allowed three runs, two earned, on eight hits while striking out seven in 6 2/3 innings to pick up his second win of the year. Skyhawks closer Matt Petrusek fanned two in a perfect ninth to record his eighth save.

Worcester starting pitcher Tom Cochran has baffled opposing batters all season. This one was no different as he allowed two runs on five hits and struck out eight while walking none to run his perfect record to 7-0. The Tornadoes collected 13 hits in support of Cochran, led by 1B Chris Colabello, who was 4-for-5 with a double and two runs scored. Worcester scored two runs in the first inning and maintained a comfortable lead throughout. Brockton LF Jud Thigpen was 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and a pair of RBI in the losing effort.

New Jersey 9, Atlantic City 2

New Jersey kept itself in contention for the first half title with a win on the road against New Jersey. Jackals starting pitcher Ted Serro didn't give the Surf hitters much room to breathe, allowing two runs on eight hits while striking out three in seven strong innings. The victory was Serro's first of the season. New Jersey was led at the plate by 3B Chris Kelly. Kelly was 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and four RBI. Jackals C Matt Lauderdale added a solo homer and was 1-for-5.
