Pittsfield 6, New York 2 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

The Pittsfield Colonials scored three runs in their first at-bat and added three more in the second frame to defeat New York 6-2 in game one of a doubleheader. In the bottom of the first, Pittsfield 1B Angel Molina batted in a run, and then LF Billy Mottram smacked a two-run homer to give the Colonials a 3-0 lead. Pittsfield added three more runs in their next at-bat to expand their lead to 6-0 after two. Colonials SS Matt Nandin went 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored on the night, and CF Jerod Edmondson went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored. Pittsfield right-hander Patrick Moran earned the win, improving to 3-1 on the season. He pitched all seven innings, allowing two runs and six hits. For New York 1B Eddie Lantigua went 3-for-3 at the plate and belted a two-run home run in the top of the sixth.

Pittsfield 7, New York 0 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

Colonials starting pitcher MacKenzie King blanked New York in his debut start as Pittsfield beat New York 7-0 to take both games of a doubleheader. King pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out five batters and scattering seven hits to earn the win. King received ample run support as Pittsfield plated seven runs on ten hits. Colonials 3B Johnny Welch tripled in two runs in the bottom of the fourth and finished the game 2-for-4 at the plate. Right fielder Peter Fatse went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI, and 2B Danny Bomback had an RBI double in the first inning. For New York, RF Robert Dyer collected two hits in three at-bats in a losing effort.

Quebec 2, Worcester 1

RBI doubles from 1B Pete LaForest and CF Goefrey Tomlinson led Quebec past the Worcester Tornadoes 2-1. The game was still scoreless in the top of the sixth until LaForest's double drove in RF Sebastien Boucher to make it 1-0 Capitales. Worcester rallied in the top of the eighth. Tornadoes C Anthony Sosnoskie led off with a triple and later scored on RF Alex A. Nunez's sacrifice fly to tie the game 1-1. Tomlinson's double in the ninth scored SS Jeff Helps and proved to be the winning run for Quebec. Despite earning a no decision, Quebec starter John Mariotti scattered five hits and allowed zero runs in his seven innings pitched. Quebec reliever Dexter Bobo surrendered one run on two hits in two innings pitched and earned the win.

Brockton 11, Newark 6

Brockton RF Keith Brachold and C Chris Grossman combined for seven RBIs as the Rox beat the Newark Bears 11-6. The Rox plated five runs in the fifth inning, including Brachold's three-run home run which made it 7-2 Rox at that point. Grossman belted a solo homer in the sixth and drove in two more with a single in the seventh frame. Grossman finished the night 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and three RBIs, and Brachold went 3-for-5 at the plate with three runs scored and four RBIs. Brockton DH Mike Torres had two hits in four at-bats, an RBI and a run scored. Brockton pitcher Mark Rosen surrendered six earned runs in five and one-third innings pitched but earned the win. For the Bears, RF Danny Santiesteban had three RBIs including a solo home run in the fourth inning.

Rockland 5, New Jersey 4

Rockland 3B Ryan Mollica belted a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth to give the Boulders a 5-4 victory against the New Jersey Jackals. After scoring three runs in the fifth, Rockland held a 4-1 advantage, but the Jackals chipped away at the deficit with two back-to-back solo homers from RF Leonard Davis and C Myron Leslie in the sixth frame. The comeback was complete when New Jersey DH Mike Jones batted in Davis with a single in the seventh, tying the game at 4-4. The game remained tied heading into the bottom of the ninth as Mollica led off for Rockland. On an 0-2 count, Mollica blasted the game-winning homer, finishing the night 3-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored and an RBI. Rockland reliever Adrian Martin earned the win by pitching a scoreless inning and striking out one batter. For the Jackals, Davis homered twice in a losing effort.
