Arkansas Diamonds News Release

Arkansas Twisters Head Coach Gary Anderson wanted to add experience to his young team, and he's getting it with the return of three former Twisters. Marcus Campbell, Anthony Eubanks, and Arthur Abston will see playing time this weekend when the Twisters play Memphis on the road.

Coach Anderson is excited to have three of his former players back. "It's nothing but a blessing. When you get veterans back for a game, it can do nothing but help. Getting Marcus Campbell back on the defensive side of the ball, and Anthony Eubanks on the offensive side, and have Abston on the line, getting three veterans is a blessing."

Campbell and Eubanks are familiar names to most in-state football fans. Both played their college football at the University of Arkansas. Both have played big parts in the Twisters success the past couple of years. Campbell played in 14 games last year, catching 6 passes for 76 yards and one touchdown. But it's what he can do on the other side of the ball that has Coach Anderson welcoming Campbell back with open arms. He was the sixth leading tackler on the team last season, and has the ability to read what the opposing offense is going to do and react.

Eubanks played in 11 games last year, finishing with 29 catches for 313 yards and seven touchdown catches. He was the third leading receiver in '02 with 48 catches for 704 yards. His 14.7 yards per catch average was second on the team, and he caught 12 touchdown passes.

Abston returns after a year away from the Twisters. The Arkansas Tech product will help anchor a offensive line that's needed help protecting the quarterback.

Coach Anderson say all three have practiced throughout the week and will see significant playing time this weekend at Memphis.

Fans not making the trip up to Memphis can venture to Tony Roma's in West Little Rock and participate in the Twisters Watch Party. Tony Roma's will broadcast the game, which is being carried on PAX, and is offering specials for anyone wearing Twisters' paraphernalia.
