Manchester Wolves News Release

MANCHESTER, N.H. (May 13, 2004) - At a recent practice, Wolves media relations intern Reva Friedel sat down with rookie wide receiver/defensive back Reggie Robinson to talk about his past experiences and how he's enjoying his time in New Hampshire. Robinson, a Louisiana native and former LSU standout, has quickly taken to the arena football game. Over the first six games of the 2004 season, he ranks second on the team in receptions (26), receiving yards (307) and touchdown receptions (6). Robinson has also been a solid presence on defense, tallying nine total tackles and one interception.

Q: What was your experience at LSU like?

A: It was wonderful. I had the chance to start for three years and we went to two bowls when I was there - the Peach and Sugar Bowls.

Q: What did you do after you left LSU?

A: I went to workout for the Buccaneers, but I didn't make it, so then I went to Houston to work.

Q: How did you get in touch with Coach Richards?

A: Coach actually called me and asked me what I was doing and whether or not I still wanted to play football.

I told him yes so he told me to come to Manchester to work out and the rest is history.

Q: How has your experience in Manchester been so far?

A: Well, I was really homesick at first, but after we started practicing I forgot how much I loved football and realized I was so happy to be here.

Q: How is Manchester different from Baton Rouge?

A: Up here is so different. The nightlife is really different, down there it is insane, but the people here are a lot friendlier.

Q: Where do you like to hang out in town when you have free time?

A: Jillian's and Margaritas. Those two places are both a lot of fun.

Q: Are there and guys on the team that you are particularly close to?

A: Well, I'm pretty close to the receivers. We rotate a lot so we just try to help each other out. George (Williams) and Ryan (Soule) and Henry (Frazier) are all great guys to play with.

Q: What is it like playing for the crowd in the Verizon Wireless Arena?

A: It's great. The crowd is fun and it's nice to be able to interact with the fans after the games. You can't do that in college.

Q: Do you have a part-time job while you're in town?

A: Yeah, I work at Finish Line at the Mall of New Hampshire. .

Q: Do people recognize you there?

A: Not until we start talking about the Wolves. A lot of people talk about how they go to the games and have a lot of fun.

Q: Did you play with any future NFL players at LSU?

A: Yeah, I was lucky. When I was a freshman I played with Kevin Faulk (Patriots) and Rohan Davie (Patriots) was my quarterback. I learned a lot my freshman year. I also played with Michael Clayton who just went in the first round of the draft to Tampa Bay. He was really eager to learn, and was a good guy to play with. He took over my position at LSU.

Q: Do you hope to play in the AFL or even the NFL?

A: I would love to move up. I thought my football career was over, but coming to Manchester solidified that I can still play, so I'm more optimistic.

Q: What did you think about the National Championship this year?

A: I was mad that LSU had to split the title with USC. The BCS is supposed to prevent that, I hope they fix the system.
