Cammalleri Earns AHL Second Team All-Star Honors
April 7, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - Manchester Monarchs center Michael Cammalleri, who leads the American Hockey League with 43 goals and is second in the league with 102 points (43-59=102), has been voted on to the AHL's Second All-Star Team, the league announced on Thursday.
AHL players and media in each of the league's 28 member cities voted Cammalleri on to the second team. The third-year pro will receive a custom designed crystal award in recognition of his selection at a future Monarchs home game.
Cammalleri, 22, a second-round pick (49th overall) of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, has registered a point in 62 of the 73 games he's played in this season, and he's recorded three separate scoring streaks of 10 games or more. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, also owns a plus-22 rating for the season and was voted a starter for the Canadian team at the 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic, hosted by the Monarchs at the Verizon Wireless Arena in February.
It's been a record setting season for Cammalleri, who holds Monarchs single season records for points (102), goals (43) and assists (59) in a season. His 68 career goals also rank first on the team's all-time goal-scoring list. With his three-point night (1-2=3) against the Portland Pirates on Wednesday at the Verizon Wireless Arena, Cammalleri passed the century mark for points in a season. He's just the second player to accomplish such a feat in the last four years.
The Monarchs are scheduled to meet the Pirates at 8:05 p.m. at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Friday night. After that, they'll meet the Springfield Falcons at the Springfield Civic Center on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. The Monarchs next home game is scheduled for Friday, April 15 against the Lowell Lock Monsters at 7:35 p.m.
Ticket Availability: Single seats in the Gold level and 400 seats in the Silver level remain for the April 15 game against the Lock Monsters.
Monarchs tickets are on sale now and may be purchased at the Verizon Wireless Arena box office. Individual tickets may also be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (603) 868-7300, or by visiting Ticketmaster on-line at www.ticketmaster.com.
