
Cameron Oliver Earns NBA Call-Up with Atlanta Hawks

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - The Atlanta Hawks announced today the team has signed South Bay Lakers forward Cameron Oliver to a 10-day contract via the NBA's hardship exception. Per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
In 14 games (six starts) with South Bay this season, Oliver (6'8", 239) averaged 14.1 points (.564 FG%), 7.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.7 blocks in 27.8 minutes per game. The 25-year-old led the team in defensive rebounds (86), steals (20) and blocks (24) this season. Oliver spent the 2021-22 preseason with the Los Angeles Lakers, appearing in five games averaging 2.4 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 7.9 minutes.
Prior to signing with the Lakers in September, the Oakland, Calif. native appeared in four NBA regular season games last season for the Houston Rockets. In 21.8 minutes per game, Oliver averaged 10.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 57.6 percent from the field.
After playing two years of college basketball at the University of Nevada, Oliver appeared in 65 games (26 starts) in the NBA G League for Delaware and Wisconsin (2017-19), averaging 12.7 points (.535 FG%), 7.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 blocks in 25.1 minutes.
Oliver's NBA call-up marks the sixth of the year for South Bay and the 42nd in team history.
