PORTLAND, ME -Maine Celtics guard Chris Clemons has earned a GATORADE Call-Up to the NBA, signing a 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks under the COVID-related hardship allowance.
Clemons, a Campbell product, has played in 14 games this season, including 3 starts. Clemons is averaging 16.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game with Maine. He scored a season high 31 points in Maine's most recent game at the NBA G League Winter Showcase. A former Two-Way Player with the Houston Rockets, Clemons has played in 33 NBA games, averaging 4.9 points in 8.8 minutes per game. He also played in 2 playoff games with the Rockets.
Clemons becomes the 18th player in franchise history to earn a GATORADE Call-Up, and the fourth in 10 days. Theo Pinson, Luke Kornet, and Juwan Morgan all signed 10-day contracts last week.
