Cameron Abney Assigned To Stockton

Oklahoma City - Oklahoma City Barons General Manager, Bill Scott, announced today that Cameron Abney has been reassigned by the Edmonton Oilers to the Stockton Thunder.

The 6-5, 205-pounder from Aldergrove, B.C., was the Oilers third round draft choice (82nd overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Abney split time last season between Stockton and Oklahoma City. In 43 games between the two teams, he scored five points (2-3-5) while serving 156 penalty minutes. Abney has been with the Barons since the start of training camp and appeared in both Barons preseason games.

Oklahoma City is in the midst of a season long seven-game homestand. The Barons skate in three games this week, beginning tomorrow night against the Lake Erie Monsters. Friday, they take on the Houston Aeros while Sunday, they play the Texas Stars. Games Tuesday and Friday start at 7 p.m., while Sunday's game starts at 4 p.m.

Friday, the Barons are giving away car flags to the first 2,000 fans through the doors. Sunday is the first of four postgame skates with the team. Fans can stay after the game and skate with members of the Barons team. Skate rental is free, or you may bring your own. Fans wishing to skate can register on the day of the game at the Barons fan relations booth.
