Camden Riversharks News Release

The Lancaster Barnstormers threw an early punch with six runs in the 2nd inning and held on to beat the Camden Riversharks by the final score of 7-5. Camden has now tied their season-high mark with six losses in a row.

J.D. Durbin (8-2) got the victory pitching the first six innings allowing four runs on ten hits while striking out six batters.

Wilkin De la Rosa (0-2) went the first five innings giving up seven runs but due to the Riversharks shoddy defense, none of them were earned.

The Barnstormers got some help from the Riversharks defense in the 2nd inning as they sent ten batters to the plate. Willis Otanez and Juan Francia both made errors and Lancaster took advantage with six runs highlighted by a two-run double by Tommy Everidge.

Alvin Colina put the 'Sharks on the board in the bottom of the 2nd with a long solo home run to left field, his 11th of the season, to cut the deficit to 6-1.

Camden pulled within two runs in the 3rd inning as they loaded the bases with nobody out. After Alvin Colina lined a two-out, RBI single to center field, Danny Richar hit an RBI triple to bring Camden to within 6-4.

Trailing 7-4 in the 9th inning, Colina delivered his 4th hit of the night, an RBI single, to make it 7-5. Danny Richar lined out to shortstop with a man on first base to end the ballgame.

The Riversharks will continue their three-game series with the Lancaster Barnstormers tomorrow evening. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM. Individual and group tickets can be purchased online at www.riversharks.com or by calling 1-866-SHARKS-9.
