CAMDEN, NJ- The Riversharks played magic eight ball with the Lancaster Barnstormers in Camden Monday night, and good luck sided with the home team. The Riversharks defeated their Freedom Division foes 8-1 with the help of eight Barnstormer errors.
The Riversharks took the lead in the first when third baseman Brett Bonvechio singled with centerfielder Nic Jackson on second. Jackson scored on a throwing error, and Bonvechio later scored on a fielder's choice. The Barnstormers committed three errors on the inning.
The Riversharks rallied for five more runs in the third, including a bases loaded, three-run triple by shortstop Gary Cates. The Barnstormers contributed three more errors to the cause.
Cates added another RBI on a sac fly in the fifth to make it 8-0, and the Barnstormers matched it in the seventh. The game was already decided and ended 8-1.
