September 18, 2022 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - Inter Miami CF News Release
Inter Miami CF II and Academy defender Tyler Hall has been called up to the United States U-17 Men's Youth National Team for the Vaclav Jezek Tournament. The young center back will be a member of the team slated to face Slovakia, Germany and the Czech Republic for the tournament in the Zlin region of the Czech Republic that will run through Sept. 26.
The U.S. U-17 MYNT's first match will be against Slovakia at Hulin Stadium on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. ET. The second match will be played against Germany at Dolni Nemci Stadium on Friday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. ET. The team's third match will be against the Czech Republic at Dolni Nemci Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 5 a.m. ET.
Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2006 are age-eligible for the 2023 Concacaf U-17 Championship, which will be held in Guatemala from Feb. 11-22. The tournament will qualify four teams to the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru next fall. The Vaclav Jezek Tournament represents the first matches for the U-17 MYNT since it took first place at a UEFA Development Tournament in May in Portugal against Italy, Belgium and Portugal.
Hall, 16, has featured for the team on a number of occasions, including at the UEFA Development Tournament. He made three appearances, two of them starts, at the tournament in Castelo Branco, Portugal. The defender served as captain of the team, helping lead it to impressive victories over Belgium and Portugal, while he came off the bench in a defeat against Italy.
At the club level, Hall has featured in nine MLS NEXT Pro matches, including six starts, for Inter Miami CF II this season; he started the team's first match of the season, a 2-0 win over Columbus Crew 2 in which he became the youngest starter in the league in its first week. He also featured for Inter Miami's Academy U-17s at the 2022 Generation adidas Cup, contributing to the team's run to the semifinals.
Hall is among a growing list of current and former Inter Miami CF Academy players to be called up to a national team, including: Noah Allen, Tyler Austin, Edison Azcona, Logan Batiste, Israel Boatwright, Benjamin Cremaschi, Justin Ellis, Santiago Morales, and Felipe Valencia, among others.
