Calgary Stampeders Announce New Local Ownership

Calgary, Alberta - January 12, 2005 - At a media conference held today in Calgary, John Forzani, former CFL player and local businessman, introduced the newly established ownership group who have acquired the Calgary Stampeders.

"Today marks a new beginning for the Calgary football franchise, and an exciting time for Stampeder fans across the country," said Forzani. "As a local ownership group, each member with a successful track record in business, we are committed to the continued success of this Club and to making this franchise one of the very best in the CFL, both on and off the field and certainly in the community."

The new ownership group includes three appointed Executive Committee members who are responsible for the general management and operations of the Stampeder organization. Mr. Forzani, who is founder and Chairman of the Board of the Forzani Group Ltd., is no stranger to the sports industry or the CFL, with seven years spent as a player with the Calgary Stampeders. As CFL Commissioner from 1984-1989, Doug Mitchell, representing Legacy Sports Corporation Inc., also has significant knowledge and experience within the CFL, with deep roots in Calgary as both a businessman and community supporter. The third Executive Committee appointee, and an active member of the Calgary community, Ted Hellard, is founder and Chairman of Calgary-based Critical Mass, a leading Interactive Marketing Agency.

Matt Brister - President and CEO, Storm Exploration

Robert Peters - Founder of Peters & CO. and President & CEO, Black Diamond Land & Cattle Co.

Bob Viccars - President, Matrix Crude Oil Marketing and former Calgary Stampeder

David Sapunjis - Managing Partner of Continental Oilfield Supply Canada and Former CFL Player
