Calgary Roughnecks Sign Codd and Wagar

CALGARY- The Calgary Roughnecks announced today the signing of veteran defender Bruce Codd to a one-year contract, and goaltender Kurtis Wagar for a two-year deal.

Codd has played with the Roughnecks since being acquired from the former Arizona Sting's Dispersal Draft in the first round (sixth overall). In 152 career games Codd had 136 points (32g, 104a) and has collected 980 loose balls.

Prior to his time with the Roughnecks Codd played with the Arizona Sting for four years, as well as the Ottowa Rebel, Montreal Express, Columbus Landsharks, and Albany Attack.

During the off-season, Codd works as the Technical Director of the Alberta Lacrosse Association and is the Head Coach of the Junior A Raiders. From August 20-29th the Raiders will be competing in Coquitlam, British Columbia for the coveted Minto Cup.

The newly acquired draftee Wagar played 74 minutes for the Titans in the 2010 regular season, notching 42 saves. The Roughnecks obtained Wagar in the 2010 Orlando Titans Dispersal Draft in the second round (18th overall).

Wagar was originally selected by the Edmonton Rush as a third round pick (28th overall) of 2007 NLL Entry Draft. Wagar is spending his summer playing with the Brooklin Redmen in Ontario.
