Rochester Knighthawks News Release
Newest Rochester Knighthawk Dan Hardy will throw out the first pitch Wednesday, August 18th at the Auburn Doubledays' New York-Penn League baseball game at Falcon Park. The 23-year-old Syracuse product and Tully, NY, native will take the hill prior to the Doubledays' game against the Williamsport Crosscutters. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Hardy was the Knighthawks second-round selection (13th overall pick) in the National Lacrosse League Dispersal Draft of Orlando Titans players on August 6th. The forward was a second-round pick of the Titans last season and dubbed by Inside Lacrosse Magazine as "perhaps the most NLL-ready player of any NLL prospect."
At the game, fans can pick up Knighthawks season and group ticket information to support former Orange stars Cody Jamieson, Sid Smith, Marshall Abrams, Scott Ditzell, Kenny Nims and Hardy. The Knighthawks will also raffle off a jersey. Knighthawks' eight-game season ticket packages start as low as $110 per seat, while four-game lax packs start as low as $70. To order group or season tickets, fans can call a sales representative at (585) 454-5335 or go online to Knighthawks.net.
At Syracuse University, Hardy earned national notoriety after assisting on the game-winning overtime goal to give the Orange the 2009 NCAA Men's Lacrosse National Championship. During his Syracuse career, he won back-to-back National Championships and was an USILA Honorable Mention All-American in 2007, 2008, and 2009. In 2009, he was also named the Rookie of the Year in Major League Lacrosse with the Denver Outlaws.
