
Calgary Roughnecks Sign Captain Tracey Kelusky

CALGARY, AB - Calgary Roughnecks President and General Manager Brad Banister announced today that the club has signed team captain Tracey Kelusky to a one-year deal. Terms of the deal were not disclosed and are subject to league approval.
"He's going to be a welcome addition back to our team. Obviously he is our captain, and everyone knows what Tracey brings to the table," said Banister.
"Tracey is a fierce competitor, pound for pound probably one of the toughest players in the league."
The native of Peterborough, Ontario recorded 84 points in 16 games last season, including 31 goals and 53 assists. The five-foot-eight, 180-pound forward collected 84 loose balls, eight power play goals, 33 power play assists and four goals short-handed in that time.
In three playoff games last season, Kelusky tallied nine goals and five assists for 14 points.
Prior to his time with the Roughnecks, Kelusky played with the Montreal Express until he was picked up by the Calgary Roughnecks in the dispersal draft.
"He's one of the elite, high-level, offensive players there is in the game today," added Banister.
The Calgary Roughnecks and Edmonton Rush are scheduled to hit Lethbridge's ENMAX Centre on Saturday, December 19th for an exhilarating exhibition matchup. Game time is 7:30 p.m. MST.
The Calgary Roughnecks kick-off the 2010 season on Sunday, January 10th at the Pengrowth Saddledome against the Minnesota Swarm.
