National Lacrosse League announces efforts to "Black Out Breast Cancer" in 2010
November 23, 2009 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) News Release
The National Lacrosse League is proud to announce its efforts to help "Black Out Breast Cancer" during the 2010 season. Each of the league's eleven teams will host a special-themed "Black Out Breast Cancer Night" during a home game that takes place between March 26 and April 3.
"The National Lacrosse League is proud to join the fight against breast cancer", said NLL Commissioner George Daniel. "Our fans are very passionate about lacrosse, and we know they will rally behind this cause as well."
The games will include special promotions and events that will raise money for breast cancer research and awareness. All proceeds raised from the charity events will be donated by the home team to a local breast cancer research & awareness organization. Teams will be announcing the dates, special promotions and the local recipients of the charitable funds raised in the coming days.
The 2010 NLL season opens on Friday, January 8, and marks the 24th consecutive season of professional indoor lacrosse. For more information, visit NLL.com, the Official Website of the National Lacrosse League.
