Calgary Roughnecks News Release
CALGARY- The Calgary Roughnecks announce their 2011 regular season schedule today which kicks off against the Buffalo Bandits, January 8, 2010 at the Pengrowth Saddledome. The team then hits the road the next day to take on the 2010 defending NLL champions, the Washington Stealth.
The Calgary Roughnecks get off to busy start in January playing a total of six games, four of which are at home at the Dome, and two on the road against the Stealth and provincial rivals the Edmonton Rush. The Roughnecks play a total of 16 games, eight on the road and eight at home.
The Roughnecks will be matched up against their Rush rivals four times this season. , with home-to-home games in January and two later dates in February and March. The Riggers will also be meeting up twice with their neighbors to the east, the Toronto Rock.
The only change in teams this year was the loss of the Orlando Titans, who were formerly the New York Titans. The Titans are taking the year to restructure their organization.
This year marks the Calgary Roughnecks 10th Anniversary and the 25th season of indoor professional lacrosse.
