Calgary Roughnecks News Release

Calgary, AB - The visiting Vancouver Stealth extended a 6-1 first-quarter lead to a 13-10 victory over the Calgary Roughnecks on Saturday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Vancouver jumped out to an early 5-0 advantage courtesy of four different goal scorers. At the halftime break, the Stealth were ahead by a 10-4 margin.

The home side began to narrow an eventual 11-4 deficit with a four-goal run that spanned the third and fourth quarters, but a pair of goals by Vancouver's Logan Schuss helped to secure the victory for the visitors.

However, a three-goal performance from Curtis Dickson saw the Roughnecks forward remain the NLL's top sniper with 25 goals on the season. Dickson also added three assists to finish the night with six points.

Dane Dobbie registered a hat-trick for Calgary and added four assists for a team-high seven points.

Corey Small of the Stealth found the back of the net on four occasions to go along with four helpers. Schuss matched Small's goal-scoring output on the night, adding two assists in the process.

Defenceman Vaughn Harris made his NLL debut for the Riggers and helped his fellow defenders rally to allow just three goals in the second half.

Frank Scigliano and Christian Del Bianco split time between the pipes for Calgary, turning aside a combined 38 of 51 shots in the Roughnecks' third straight loss.

Week 9 of the 2017 NLL campaign sees Calgary (3-4) head east to Saskatoon for their second of four regular season meetings against the two-time defending NLL champion Saskatchewan Rush (5-2) on Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m. MT (NLLTV.com).
