
Knighthawks Bested by Swarm 15-9

The Rochester Knighthawks closed out a two-game weekend with a 15-9 loss Sunday against the Georgia Swarm at Harrah's Cherokee Casino Field at Infinite Energy Arena.
Rochester (2-6) got a five-point performance from Joe Resetarits (2+3). Dan Dawson posted a goal and added two helpers to aid in the Knighthawks' effort. His brother, Paul, also got in on the scoring, putting in a goal in transition. Josh Currier, Dylan Evans, Jarrett Davis, Kyle Jackson and Adam Bomberry also each had one goal. With the three-point performance, Dawson (364) moved into a fourth-place tie with Mike Accursi on the Knighthawks all-time points list.
The Knighthawks jumped out early in the first quarter after Davis caught a quick pass from Vitarelli and beat Swarm goaltender Mike Poulin. Jackson struck less than two minutes later to give Rochester a 2-0 lead. The Knighthawks took a 4-3 lead into the second quarter after Currier scored at 10:48 of the first.
In the third quarter, the Knighthawks and Swarm traded three goals each. Rochester scored the final two to get within three at 10-7. Angus Goodleaf made his first start of the season and made 36 saves.
Rochester will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 25 as it travels to play the Vancouver Stealth at 10:00 p.m. The Knighthawks will be back home on Saturday, March 4 to take on the thruway rival Buffalo Bandits in game two of the home-and-home series.
