Calgary Hitmen Set for Huge Charity Weekend with Pair of Home Games

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen and their fans will reach out to help several local charities this weekend.

On Friday (December 10) the Hitmen host the Regina Pats in the 3rd annual City TV / Kraft Shake Up the 'Dome. Game time is 7:00 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank. In addition, fans entering the building will receive a box of Kraft Dinner to be used as a noise maker.

On the way out of Scotiabank Saddledome fans will be asked to donate their Kraft Dinner box to the food bank.

Then on Sunday (December 12) the Hitmen will host the Red Deer Rebels in the 16th annual Petro-Canada Teddy Bear Toss.

Game time is 5:00 p.m. with great seats still available. Doors open Sunday at 3:30 pm.

Fans are encouraged to bring a small or medium sized stuffed toy to the game and toss it on the ice when the Hitmen score their first goal.

Teddy Bears will also be available for purchase at the game for $10 through the Rainbow Society.

This year over 23,000 Teddy Bears have been requested by over 50 local charities including; Salvation Army, Calgary Womens Emergency Shelter, Boys and Girls Club of Airdrie and the Alberta Children's Hospital.

The Hitmen will wear their new Reebok Teddy Bear Toss jersey featuring a Christmas red colour with the traditional Hitmen Logo. Features include a Santa hat on the front logo and snow banks on top of all numbers. There is also a Teddy Bear patch on one shoulder and a Petro-Canada Logo on the other.

These unique jerseys are being sold in an online auction which started today at http://www.elevateauctions.com/hitmenhockey with net proceed to support the CBC Suncor Energy Food Bank Drive.

Bidding will close on Wednesday, December 15th at 6:00pm.
