The Hitmen acquired Stankowski and a conditional fourth-round WHL Bantam Pick from Seattle on Aug. 7, 2018 in exchange for the rights to 17-year-old U.S. prospect Mike Koster, an eighth-round pick in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft and a conditional fourth-round selection in either 2019 or 2020. Elder meanwhile also started his WHL career with the Thunderbirds.
