Caboclo, Nogueira and Singler each record double-doubles in win

Bruno Caboclo, Lucas Nogueira and E.J. Singler each recorded double-doubles to lead Raptors 905 to a 101-84 victory over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants Monday afternoon in front of a franchise-record crowd of 7,485 fans at Air Canada Centre.

Raptors 905 went on a 15-0 run in the second half of the opening quarter to take a 33-18 lead after the first frame. After Raptors 905 went up by 20 points early in the second quarter, Fort Wayne came back to within single digits with a 16-4 run over a five-minute span midway through the period, but Raptors 905 was back up by 14, 52-38, at halftime.

The Mad Ants opened the third quarter with a 14-2 run to get the game within two points with just over seven minutes to go in the period. Two minutes later, Fort Wayne tied the game at 56-56, but Raptors 905 finished the quarter on a 13-4 run to take a 69-60 lead into the fourth quarter. In the final frame, Raptors 905 stretched its lead to as many as 20 points and hung on for the win.

Leading Raptors 905 in points were Scott Suggs (game-high 20), Nogueira (17), Caboclo (14), Singler (12) and Davion Berry (11). Caboclo, Nogueira and Singler's doubles-doubles were completed with 12, 11 and 11 rebounds, respectively. Berry added a game-high eight assists. Scoring in double digits for Fort Wayne were Rakeem Christmas (17), Shayne Whittington (17), Terran Petteway (15) and CJ Fair (14).

Raptors 905 led the Mad Ants in field goal percentage (43.8-35.7), three point percentage (37.5-21.7), free throw percentage (91.7-90.5), points in the paint (44-38) and fast-break points (15-10), while Fort Wayne held the advantage in second-chance points (12-10).

Raptors 905 is back in action Saturday, March 19 when it plays host to the Erie BayHawks at Hershey Centre in Mississauga at 7 p.m.
